Medical Conditions

If you are unable to confirm our statements relating to your health, ACE will need to assess any medical conditions you have. Please call us FREE on 0800 169 2967 and we will be able to advise you if we can provide cover, what the cost will be, and what terms and conditions will apply to your policy.

If we are able to cover you, it will be for a single trip policy only. Each individual will receive his or her own policy, making clear what conditions are covered. If you are travelling with partners and / or children who don't need screening they will be covered under a separate policy. All quotations and policies can be arranged in a single call. If you do buy from us we give you 14 days (or until your trip begins) to cancel cover and receive a full refund if you change your mind.

Useful things to know before you call...

Be prepared to answer questions about your medical conditions and your state of health. You will need to know exactly what conditions you have, and the number of medications you are taking for each condition. If you are unsure, your doctor’s surgery should be able to help.

Have a pen ready to make a note of our reference number - if you need to call back, this will enable us to retrieve your quotation.

Make sure you have your credit or debit card handy - this will save you time if you do want to buy from us.

If you are travelling with a partner or children with medical conditions who require insurance, or you are phoning on behalf of someone who is travelling, please ensure that

  • you are acting with the knowledge and consent of anyone on whose behalf you are calling; and
  • you are able to provide full and accurate information about medical conditions; and
  • you know full details about the trip, including destination, dates, and any activities planned; or
  • you ask your partner or the person on whose behalf you are calling to be available during the call.

The information you provide in the call will be the basis on which cover and premium is determined. If you do not provide full and accurate information, this may mean there is no cover under the policy, or the amount of benefit payable is reduced.

The information we will require to assess health is "sensitive data" as defined in the Data Protection Act 1988, and includes information about physical and mental health. When you call us on the number above, you will be asked to consent to ACE using the data to determine whether we can offer you cover, and at what cost.

ACE will treat all information lawfully and in accordance with our responsibility as Data Controller under the Data Protection Act 1988.
